Policies and Procedures

It is the intention of Peak Remedial Massage to provide our clients with professional and therapeutic services.

In our commitment to provide a unique and outstanding experience to all of our clients we have adopted the following policies:

Arrival to Your Massage Treatment

Please arrive for your appointment 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time. An early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. Completion and submission of your Client Intake form online in advance (via the booking site), is also helpful.

Cancellation, Late and No Show Policies

Your time and ours is valuable.

Cancellations require 24 hours notice please – you can easily reschedule or cancel your appointment online.  We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee at the full advertised rate for cancellations within 24 hours, and for no-shows.

If a late arrival is inevitable, your service may be shortened in order to keep to our schedule, and the usual fee will be charged.  In some cases, we may be able to accommodate a full appointment, but this will be at our discretion and only if our schedule allows.

We understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life. We ask that you contact us if you cannot keep your appointment or if you are running late.

Our booking system will ask new clients to supply their credit card details.  Your card will not be charged until after your appointment is completed, and only if you choose that form of payment. We have the discretion to charge this credit card in the event of late cancellations or no-shows, in line with these policies.

Personal information and Confidentiality

All details of your treatment and client history is strictly confidential.  No discussion will take place with other health professionals without your express permission.

When you book online you will be asked to supply your credit card details.  Your details are secure and remain confidential, and the online booking site is a verified secure site.

Scope of Practice

Peak Remedial Massage employs only qualified Massage Therapists. We display our qualifications in the waiting area of our clinic for you to view.

Medical Conditions

Massage therapists do not diagnose, or prescribe for, medical conditions.  Referrals to medical practitioners can be provided with your consent. We may also make recommendations to other health practitioners if we feel, after discussion with you, that they may be beneficial to you.

It is the responsibility of the client to inform Peak Remedial Massage of any change to their medical history.  If you are receiving treatment for any medical condition which your massage therapist determines to be a contraindicator for massage therapy, a letter from your health provider may be required to continue your massage treatments.

A clearance letter is required from your doctor for clients undergoing radiation or chemotherapy therapies, and for those with injuries being treated by a physiotherapist or chiropractor.

You must inform your massage therapist if you are pregnant.

Clothing and Draping

You reserve the right to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, to refuse any massage method, or to stop the massage treatment at any time.  You will be modestly draped at all times, with only the area being massaged undraped.  Consent will always be sought prior to treatment of the upper buttocks or lower back region.

Inappropriate Communication or Behaviour

Inappropriate communication, behaviour or interaction between the client and the massage therapist is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.  The treatment will be terminated immediately and no future treatments will be undertaken.
